Come listen for a while,
Until you hear of those informers that are spreading through our isle,
They are scattered o'er the country if its true as I am told,
I hear they are in Kilrickle and invaders there of old,
From Eastwell on by Dartfield and all along the road
If you go there you will see police and landgrabbers working at Newgrove.
It's for years we have held the farm by labour and by toil,
And our motto was I own to God the poor should own the soil,
Until years we were invaded by a Cromwell from Streamstown
For his fiery band of rebels tried to pull our courage down,
Thank God we were not cowardly for we shortly let him see,
Our veins were filled with Irish blood,
