    and when the churning is done the glass will get bright. In cold frosty weather there is a quart of luke warm water poured in before starting churning. It is ventilated several times to let off air, if not the churn might explode.
    When the glass is clear the butter is churned. Then the butter is taken out of the churn and the buttermilk is used for making cakes.
