- (1) If you have a thorn in your finger, and put wax on it, the thorn will be gradually drawn out.
(2) Put bread soda on a burn to ease the pain.

(7) A lick from a dog will ease a cut.
(8) Forge water is supposed to cure warts.
(9) A fright is recommended to cure a hiccough.
(10) A horse's tongue will draw out a thorn.
(11) Gooses grease is effective for making muscles limber.
(12) Dandelion roots, boiled produce a jelly which is very good for people suffering from consumption.
(13) Cream is often applied to a sore nose or chapped lips.
