- Folklore 26-10-38PotatoesWhen the potatoes were growing long ago the blight fell and stopped them from growing and then they used to get black and rotten and there used to be none for eating. The people used to gather the potato apples and get the seed off them for the next year. Long ago they used to make the drills with a wooden ridge plough. Then they would put manure on them. Then they leave the on them and shut them again with the wooden ridge plough.Teller: Mr Tom Reddington
