- There are two little black thorn bushes growing in my field about a half a mile from my house. Once there lived an old man in Rockfield called John Coyne.
He told my father if he went back at twelve a clock at night and dig up one of the bushes he would find a pot of gold.
But before coming home he must bury the bush up-side-down within a quarter of an hour and if he had not it buried before the time was up the fairies would come and bring him away.- Collector
