- (continued from previous page)Then he said, "I have you here now and you won't get out so handy." On saying this he shoved her into a room that two or three bulldogs were guarding. After a while she heard a scream outside. She guessed that he was after letting the bulldogs loose at a woman and after they killed her he took her money and she knew he would do the same thing to her. When a servant came up with her dinner she did not eat it but a plan came to her. Throwing bits of the dinner to the dogs until it was all gone she slipped past them. She saw a gold ring on the floor and taking it up she saw a name on it. She said, "That woman has been missing from my place for a long time and it's here she was." She put the ring in her pocket and went out. Once outside she got her pony and followed the trail of sand home. A few weeks later she held a banquet and among those who came was the man that was going to kill her out in the mountain. After the feast she asked everyone to tell a story.(continues on next page)
