    They are hung up around the house and in the outhouses.
    When a person gets a new house built, they make a wooden cross, about a foot long, and nail it to some piece of wood near the ceiling.
    It is left there until St. Bridid's Day and then it is taken down and it is replaced by a rush or straw ross.
