- My native village is Cloonkill which means the meadow of the wood. It is so called because it was surrounded by large woods long ago, but they are mostly all cut down nowadays. The remaining part is very good pasture and meadow land.There were only fourteen houses in my village long ago, but the population has increased since and there are twenty two houses in it now.
