“There is a well in Gubacreeny called Saint Marshal's well.”
(continued from previous page)There is a well in Gubacreeny It is blessed by St Marcel for all cures. When you are going for a cure you can not talk to anyone. When you get to the well you say give Paters and Aves. When you are leaving the well you leave something as a token in the well. There are two wells in Wardhouse Blessed by St Patrick. You get nine stones and say give Our Fathers and five Hail Marys and each time throw a stone on the heap and you will get a cure for (and) any bodily sickness. There is also a cure for toothache at St Marshals well. Around St Marchals well there are a ring of bushes.- Informant
