    had enough stockings and socks made that would last for the whole year.
    Women's stockings for Sundays were usually dyed with "Vegetables Dyes". Green dye from Moss or Cabbage.
    Brown dye from heather, blackberries, briars or soot.
    Black dye was produced from a solution of Log Wood and coppress.
    Yellow dye was produced from Daffoldils.
    Shirts spun from flax were made locally and worn by farmers. They were coarse material but they wore well one of them lasting for about
