    For a period of three weeks before Xmas raffles are held in houses where there are turkeys and geese for sale. All the card played of the district gather to these houses in their turn. At about 12:30 tea is made and a fine supper of loaf bread, tea and jam is served. The last round is played at about five o'clock in the morning and the two winners of partners play out for the goose or turkey.
    At the present time the young lads play "Brag", "Pontoon", "Banker", and "Rummy" while the good gamblers play for the goose or turkey.
