  2. The Robin
The robin builds its nest in the side of a ditch. The nest is made of moss and is lined with hair. The robin lays five or six small brown eggs. The robin has a red breast. There is a story told about the robin why it has a red breast. When Our Lord was crucified on the cross the robin tried to pull out the nails out of the flesh with its bill and some blood stained its breast.
