Builds its nest in the branches of a high tree, nest untidy composed of branches and twigs and plastered with mud. The magpie is disliked greatly by the farmers wives because it is said to prey on chickens when young, considered omen of bad luck when seen singly, of goof luck to the observers who sees them in pairs.
