- Herbs
The most harmful weeds which grow are docks, ground-sel, redshanks and rushes. They spread rapidly and groundsel is declared to be poison for cattle but they seem to know that for they do not eat it. Docks and redshanks start growing in ground which is being cropped or dug but rushes and groundsel grow in wet land. "Fearaban" is not said to be a weed but it is used in many cures such as the cure of the "rose" or erisypbelis and the cure of the "heart fever" or palpitation. Clock sorrel which grows on bogy land is rooster and put as a cure to a stone-bruise. The sun flour is used for drying cloth a yellow colour. Herbs were used extensively in cures in farmer times and they relieved sufers and they had great faith in them- Collector
