- The herbs that grow in our land are the Dockin, Nettles, Redshanks Chicken weeds, and Thistles. The dockin is a very bad weed. It is about a foot in height, and there are big flat green leaves on it. It injures crops very much. Nettles are a very bad weed also they are alway growing with the dockin. The nettle is a good feeding for young turkeys, and for the blood. Nettles have green leaves on them, and they have a coating of fine hair. If you touch it with your hand it stings you, but if you grasp it tightly it will not sting you. The dockin cured the sting of the(continues on next page)
