- The spinney ginney is made by getting a spool and cutting it in two halves. Then point one end of it and then drive a piece of a stick through the hole of the spool and point the stick also. Then the spinney ginney is made. It is possible to make two out of one spool. This was made thirty years ago and is made yet. It will spin only on a smooth flag or board or a plate. It spins for about three or four minutes. This was and is a favourite passtime for children.
