  1. There was a man one time and he was working with a gentleman. And this man had a very nice daughter, and his master took a notion of her. And he said to the man this evening when he was going home, "if you are not able to tell me the weight of the moon in the morning I will have to sack you." So he went home annoyed and troubled to his daughter and she said to him "dont be a bit annoyed for I will tell you in the morning." So when he was going in the morning to his work. "Now" says she "tell him there are four quarters in the moon and that it is a hundred weight" and he told him and he said that is alright. And he went to his work until he was going home the next night, and the gentleman said to him "now Johnny if you are not able to tell me whats thicker than the grass in the morning I will have to sack you." So he went home troubled and told his daughter about it that night. And she said "you will not be sacked for I will tell you in the morning." So when he was going in the morning, she told him that the dew was thicker than the grass and that there were five drops of dew on every blade of grass. And the gentleman asked Johnny who told him those things, and he
