    in sufficient quantity, because much flax is said to have been imported both in the raw state and woven. Weaving by hand looms was carried on by about twenty cottage holders with one loom apiece, but all traces of these cottages have long since disappeared.
    That excellent weaving was done here in the long ago because two local families possess two linen table-cloths, which are said to be woven 250 years ago. Those cloths are still serviceable and are of a beautiful design.
