    along the road with the man clinging on to the halter. At last they caught up to a man going with a cow to the fair also. The man said "that is a very cross cow you have there". "A" says the other man "you could not have seen a nicer little cow in all Ireland but as soon as I put on that halter on her she got wild and raced away. But now she is settled down. "Throw away that halter" said the other man "that is the halter I found myself on the road this morning and I put it on my cow and when I did that she ran away until I had to take it off and throw it away". So the man took off the halter and the cow got quiet again and the man sold her at the fair and got a good price for her.
