Pat McHugh, Brian McKenna and Micheal Forde, walked to Dublin a distance of a hundred miles and over and reaped the harvest. There was one good mower in this area Hugh O'Rourke he mowed three acres in one day. A bad Flu savaged this district in the year 1918. No one in this district died but in Arigna, county Roscommon, Sligo, hundreds of people died as a result of it. A dwelling house owned by Mr. Cullen was burned on Christmas night 1934, no lives lost. The Court house and the Barracks in Drumkeerin were burned by the Republican Army in the year 1921.
