  1. It is custom in this district when a person dies that all the people in the townland cease farm - work for three days.
    When a person dies it is a custom to keep the corpse in the house one night and the people held a wake on that night . Long ago they used to play games and sing but now-a-days the people smoke.
    It is a belief in this district that if the clay falls in after the coffin has been lowered, and no one near it, it is a sign that another member of that family will die before long.
