    it is lucky.
A horse shoe is lucky to put in the foundation of a house. A bit of silver is just as lucky.
Men often keep horse shoe nails in their pockets. They say it is lucky.
If you find any kind of nail it is lucky.
If a mag comes shouting round the house it is the sign you will get a letter according as the letter is coming nearer the mag will be coming near to the house. Two or three come when a parcel is coming. Long ago in the time of the druids the mags used to bring messages in their bills and they are enchanted ever since.
"Blessed Palm" is tied with a red ribbon or red cloth to the beam in the byre to protect the cattle from being overlooked.
A horse shoe is tied over the byre door.
Horse shoe nails are tied in the cattle's tails.
