- (continued from previous page)It happened that there were three children lying on a bed of straw in the corner of the kitchen. The fox went to the fire (raked) and commenced to scrape hot embers in the direction of the bed with the intention of setting it on fire.
The man, on seeing this act, rushed to the bed where the children lay and out ran Mr Fox. - A man named Peter Darcy (dead) of Greaghnafarna, went one morning to his mountain byre to let out his geese. It happened that the fox got into the byre, killed all the geese and drank their blood. He was so inflated that he could not get out on the hole on which he came in. The fox pretended he was dead and the man took hold of him by the tail and threw him outside. Peter went back to the(continues on next page)
