    As told in a previous account in this book Bartley Creamer was charged with the murder of Kelly (emergency man).

    He walked Drumkeeran round
    And took a drop in many a shop
    In that grand old town.
    In the evening towards Dowra
    He started on the road
    And 'twas remarked by many
    He had in a great load
    In Dowra, too, another drop
    To help him on the way
    Whilst with him in his pocket
    A pint he did convey
    He fell stone dead
    Upon the road
    His loss some may bewail
    At all events poor Creamer
    Was lodged in Sligo jail
    In his cell sore suffered Creamer
    Till here the other day
    He was taken and his case was tried
    In the court-house of Galway
    Evidence for the Crown, it was put down
    And that night manfully
    The cheers went round
    Through Galway town
    When Creamer he got free
    The rejoicings, then through Carrick
    Were remarkable, we all know
