- During the big wind in 1839 (which lasted one day) haystacks + stacks of corn were blown away. Houses were knocked down. Fish were dashed out of Lake Allen on the fields.In December 1867 there was a severe thunderstorm. Animals were killed in hundreds.In 1837 (Jan) there was a severe snow storm. The snow was 14 feet deep in places. People and animals were lost. During July 1930 a terrible rainstorm occurred.In this school area part of the mountain slipped - rivers took a new course across the county. The stony river brought houses crops with great force across the county to Lake Allen.
