- (continued from previous page)early on a May morning and seeing his neighbours coming towards his house was astonished, as it was yet quite early. He kept a watch just to see what would happen. The man came as far as the house, put up his hand and took away some of the thatch and went away. While passing over the fields he gathered some herbs. As the protestant man was living in view of his house he kept an eye to see what would happen. As this particular man reached his own house he struck the thatch and herbs which he gathered in the eave of his own house. It being so early in the morning the protestant man expected the other man would go to bed when he got in home. He made it his business to pass by this house and took the herbs and tatch from over the door bringing it home with him and placed it over the door in the thatch of his own house. The next time he churned, his churn was full of butter. When he saw what had happened he took the parcel of thatch(continues on next page)
