    4. When he would come into his dinner all the family would
    sit on the floor around a "scib" which would be left on a
    pot. They would have a "nogging" each, full of sour milk
    or perhaps sometimes they would have a few herrings,
    roasted on a grid-iron.
    5. They would have oatenbread called "aran-coirce" or
    oatenbread mixed with flour called "fuinseog." They used
    not eat much meat except fowl meat.
    6. Long ago the people would not eat any food on Good
    Friday, except oatenbread baked standing and tea
    without milk or sugar.
    7. When Christmas would come the man of the house
    would go to the town and buy a stone of flour.
    8. When the tea came to this district first the people used
    boil the and eat the tea leaves and throw away the tea.
