    when potatoes were scarce.
    No body remembers when tea was first brought to this district but for a long time after it coming they used eat the tea leaves and throw away the tea.
    The people had no mugs or cups long ago. They used have wodden vessels called noggins, these noggins were used to milk the cows as well as to drink from them.
    They had wooden handles and they held from a pint to two gallons of milk
