1. Ní ceart bheith ag rinnce tímpal na teineadh Oidhche SheanSheáin, mar cailín rinnce ba chionntach leis an naomh a chur chun báis.
2. An té is aoirde léimeann thar an teine ar aghaidh agus ar chúl, 'sé is sia mairfidh agus is séanmhaire pósfaidh.
3. Ní ceart an ghríosach a breith isteach san tigh nuair a bhíonn an teine ag dul in éag nó chaillfí duine san tigh roim an am sin aríst.
4. Ba cheart cnámh a chaitheamh isteach sa teine, Oidhche Sh. Sheáin. Teine cnámh. - Once upon a time Paddy Drury the poet was very drunk and he was coming out of Limerick. He was eating a loaf of bread and he saw a woman with a little dog. The woman called him and asked him to throw the dog a bit and Paddy caught the dog by the tail and threw the dog over the ditch. People in Knockanure laughed at Paddy Drury the Poet. He said:-
"Knockanure both mane and poor
A church without a steeple
Where ignorant boors look over half-doors,
