    Long ago there lived in Ireland a farmer who had three sons.

    his money or any other thing with him, or if he did he could not enter heaven. The priest did as he was told. The thief came again the following day, and he brought a bag with him. Then he told the priest to go into the bag and that he would take him to heaven. The priest went into the bag and the thief tied the mouth of it. Then he put the bag on his shoulder & went away. He went into a small house where there were geese and he let down the bag there. Then all the geese began to peck the bag and the thief went away, closed the door of the little house and left the priest with the geese. He went back and got the priest's money and he told the king that he had fooled the priest.
    Then the king asked him if he could take the sheet from under the Queen without her knowing it. "If you do" he said "I will give you my daughter to marry."
    Then the thief went away and he dug up a dead man, and brought him with him to the king's house. When he arrived there the king and the queen & the daughter were in bed because it was nearly dark. The thief put the dead man up against the window. When the king saw the man outside the window he thought it was the thief so he got his gun & shot him. When the king fired
