    caps and bonnets, and a poll-rack to keep the caps out behind. Capes were worn with the bonnets and white knilted stockings and gutta - percha boots. The way they patched them was with percha, to heat a red iron and polish it off with a knife. You should keep away from the fire. The woman wore them.
    The girls on Sundays when going to the cross road dances wore white lawn bibs and aprons and red dresses. They wore Grecian bends at the back. You could sit up on them. They were used to keep out the dresses
