Story One time long ago, an old woman and her son used to pass through this part of the country.
This day as they were walking along the road the old woman got very tired and sleepy and she lay down on the side of the road.
She told her son to keep the flies away from her while she slept. She was not long asleep when a fly lay on her nose. When the son saw the fly, he got a stick and hit the fly and broke his mother's nose.
They both lived together for a long time afterwards, but there was a mark on the woman's nose until she died. Bridget Ryan
