- A man by the name of Martin Mullins who lived in Mounthazel, came to Tample to cut a day's work of hay for the parish priest. He cut a field of one and a half acres of hay. The field is known as "Gort an t-sagairt"
- Mass was said in Pat Hogan's wood in Clooncagh. The picture of the altar is cut out on the bark of a beech tree. Men were cutting trees about forty years ago in that wood and they refused to cut that tree.
- There is a field in Clough belonging to Joe Finnerty and a priest used to say Mass there and it is called "Style an Aifrinn". Mass was said in the open air or in the houses in olden times.
