This story was told by Martin Barry aged 79 years of Cloonkeen Kerrill, Colemanstown, Ballinasbe, County Galway - During the famine of 1847 all the crops got the dry-rot in the pits. All that were not rotten were eaten and they had no seed for the next year. When the famine was over they had nothing to sow. The years before the famine they had to much of everything.
