- The name of my village is Kilsallaugh, or Cuilsallaigh which means "Sally wood". This name comes down to us for many years past. When Ireland was covered with woods, on my village site was a sally wood.
It is in the parish of Kilkerrin and in the barony of Tiaquin. The old people say that there were sixty houses in my village. It is also said that you could step from one roof to another on account of the houses being so close to-gether.(continues on next page)- Collector
