Taking the ButterI had another curious experience during the "Tan Days," but of a different kind though I suppose the devil himself had a good hand in this.It was in the month of May this occurred, but I am not sure of the date. It might be the 1st. but for that matter it could be the 21st. or any other date as far as I know for dates were giving me little trouble at the time as I was "on the run."Anyhow this particular morning I awoke before sun-rise, and shortly after the sun shot its beams into the room I occupied, I heard a noise in the kitchen. I sat up quickly in the bed, and listened for I thought it was a raid by the Tans. The door between my room and the kitchen was about half open, and I peered down into the kitchen, through the half open door which was directly opposite me.
