- A Great StormIn the Spring of 1903 a dreadful storm arose. It came on the twenty sixth of February and lasted from 11pm to 4am. A house belonging to John Donnelly Laura was stripped of its thatch and other houses also. Sheep cattle and horses were killed and old whitethorns known to be a hundred years old were left lying on the ground. The old men said it was worse than the storm if 1839 but did not last as long.
