    The monks then became very angry and one of them decided to stay up and guard the place. There was a lake convening to the place and a half human serpent was supposed dwell on it.
    At twelve o' clock that night the monk heard a horrid noise. He lifted his head off his prayer book and then he saw the horrid serpent endeavouring to throw the building.
    The monk almost fainted but he prayed to god for help and then by the power of the Almighty he changed it into a wire rope. This strange object is to be seen to the present day.
    The monastery was then built without any hindrance. Later it was destroyed by Cromwell and
