    the monks were butchered.
    When the abbot was about to be beheaded he went down his knees and foretold that Cromwell would die an unnatural death and that a great storm would rise at the moment of his death to bring away his wicked spirit.
    Proud to say the ruins of this abbey are kept in great repair.
    This tale was told to me by Peter Reynolds, Corduff, Dromod, Co. Leitrim.
