    The teacher wrote a headline on the Black-Board and the pupils copied it down and then brought it to the master to inspect it.
    In the winter season each pupil brought 2 turf to school every day and when seating accomodation was scarce. The pupils sat on their turf around the walls.
    Alex was very fond of a little drop of whiskey and went to the market in Mohill every Thursday and usually took too much drink and was unable to go to school on Friday.
    On Wednesday he was usually scarce in tobacco and was then very cross with the children, so that the school we may say did no work except on Monday and Tuesday
