We have everything in this place
That any town can own
The only thing we are short of
Is the holy Church of Rome.
- I live in the townland of Furnace.
Its a very nice place to be
It is overlooking the River Shannon
So its a grand place you see.

There are eleven house in it
All built new and fine
Standing between the Shannon
And the Great Southern railway line.
III
In a very green field in Furnace
There stands a fine spring well
From it Furnace got its name
About it old folks could tell.

Of all places in this country
Furnace is liked the best
