    In the parish of Bornacoola.
    There's many a big townland,
    One of these I value highly.
    And it is very grand.

    I live in its vicinity
    And its name is Gort - na- lamp
    And very rarely visits it.
    A tinker or a tramp.

    There are twelve houses in it,
    And in one of the I reside,
    There are no lakes or mountains.
    Save one river flowing beside.

    There's one big protestant house in it,
    With a large farm of land as well
    And all the work thats done on it.
    No tongue can ever tell.

    Every week two men come around.
    Selling everything we need,
    Tea sugar and loaves of bread,
    All safely guranteed.
