Another field is called "Sweeneys field" because a man named Sweeney was buried there. Another field is called the "Pound field" because about a hundred years ago any cattle, sheep or horses seized for shop debt or unpaid rates were impounded in that field and put up for auction by the high Sheriff of the County and sold so as to recover the debt and all expenses.
