- Storms (continued)The big wind occurred on the 6th January 1839. One sign was the sun setting very pale. It advanced from midday onwards. It was so strong that houses were blown down and fish were blown out of Loughciorl lake up on the neighboring hills. It lasted one night. There (wo) were a few lives lost.

That shows the will of an angry God,
