    So he told the bird to come down and the bird said it was afraid of his animals, but if he’ed hit them with a branch of the tree under which he was standing, she’ed come down. But he said to never mind the animals but to come down. So she wouldn’t come down so the man cut a button off his coat and put it before his gun and was going to shoot the bird, when she gave him a wand from under her wing and told him to strike the eight white round stones, and he struck them and they turned back into his brother and his seven animals. When his brother came up he took a button off his coat and shot the bird so they all went back to the palace.
    When the princess saw the two men with the seven animals apiece she didn’t know which of them was the husband, but she said whichever of them had the 7 bracelets was he husband. So her husband showed her the seven bracelets and they all lived happy together in the palace ever afterwards.
