    Then these cakes were lifted one by one by a Flesh fork out of the boiling water and set to cool in a large wooden dish. When cool it was eaten with Butter and sugar added.
    Other times it was cooked on a winter's night left on a dish till morning.
    Each cake was split up into thin slices and reheated on a pan greased with lard or butter and was eaten for breakfast.
    Another food made from potatoes was Colcannon. This was usually and only made in the month of July on the first digging of the new potatoes of the season.
