    It is said that fairies lived under these herbs.
    One day a man was passing through a field which was full of "Búachailláns" and he found a pot of gold under one of them. He had a rope with him and he tied it to the "Búachaillán" where the gold was while he would be going home for a cart to carry the gold. He went home for the cart but when he returned every "Búachaillán" in the field was tied with a rope, and the man did not know where the gold was. It is said the fairies tied the "Buacalláins" with the ropes.
    The dock leaf is a very harmful herb because it spreads rapidly, and it also impoverishes the land.
    "Crush crann" or "health" only grows in shady places. It is a very good cure for a burn. The leaves of the herb should be pounded and then boiled in unsalted butter. When it is well boiled and all the oil taken out of it, the oil should be thrown
