When you are going to make ropes you must get a twister and an arm of long hay. There are different kinds of twisters in use. Sometimes a rake is used when there is no twister. The drawing on top shows some kinds of twisters. The first one is made of wire with two wooden handles. The second is a rod bent and tied across with a twine. The third is a straight rod.(2)
When you are making the rope one person twists and the other person gives the rope out. When it is a certain length it is rolled into a ball. When we want to make a rope stronger we double it.
