  1. (continued from previous page)
When the clouds are black and heavy it is a sure sign of rain. When a pale ring appears around the moon it is a sure sign of rain. If there is a pale ring around the sun it is a sure sign of a wet day. A rainbow in the morning is a good sign of a wet day The South West winds bring most rain to our district.
The swallows fly low and near the earth when rain is coming. When the crows fly wildly through the air it is also a sign of rain. When the at is washing her face if she puts her paw across her ear it is also a sign of storm. When the sheep flock to the lowlands it is a good sign of storm also. The rock and all the distant hills seem very near hand when a storm is coming If the smoke goes up straight up from the chimney and the robin singing in the top of a bush this is a sign of rain.
