    There were two men working with a gentleman, a father and his son.

    shouted down and said, ''who is there.'' I am an evil spirit that is here for a hundred years and if you don't let me out I'll kill you. The gentleman came down, opened the door and Jack went away.
    There was a light fall of snow on the ground. Jack kept the skin on him and kept rattling the gallon. He tracked the other three men to a wood: The three men had a little fire on and they were counting the gold. Jack kept rattling the gallon and when the men saw Jack coming they were afraid and they ran away without the bags of gold. Jack threw away the skin and the gallon, gathered up all the gold into the bags and brought it home.
    When he got home he went to bed.
    In the morning Jack and his father went to work to the gentleman. ''Well'', said the gentleman
